He was called home. It was a bittersweet moment, truly.
A NASCAR race was running on the television with the speaker in his earshot - the sound relaxed him those last few days. My mom, my three sisters and I, my Uncle Don (Dad's brother) and my aunt Brenda, had just finished watching DVD we had made for the services - pictures of Dad's life. My Uncle Don was telling us stories of him and Dad and our Uncle Connie when they were kids. And then he was gone. And our lives here on earth were forever changed.
This past year had been the longest, hardest year. Particularly for my mom. You lose someone so special in your life, your world feels like it's been put in a downward spiral, and you reach out clinging for help to make it through - THATS when you find out who your friends are. My mom has some amazing friends and family. I have some amazing friends.
Thank You, from the bottom of my heart, Thank You.
We miss you and we love you Dad.
